DOROTA
"Jewelry is a happy Marriage between artistic expression
and the limitations for the human form",
says designer Dorota Porebska-Brozyna, whose gem laden Dorota
creations have indeed helped make many a marriage happier.
"You have to be able to wear a piece and be comfortable,
but when a woman walks into a room wearing something of
mine, I want her to be noticed."
To that tune, Dorota's Characteristically large rings, earrings
and brooches are more miniature objets d'art than standard
sparkly adornments. She plays with contrasting textures
of gold and organically shaped precious and semiprecious
stones, including mexican fire opals, South sea Keshi pearls,
a rainbow of sapphires, and tourmaline. The result: one-of-a-kind
pieces that display her jovial attitude toward design
"freedom is having fun with colors and shapes"
she says. But for Dorota, like many artists letting go isnt
always easy.
"Of course, I get attached to my pieces, Sometimes
I just look at something as if it were my puppy; I just
want it to go to a good loving home".
